Burbank Airport is fairly quiet this morning. In an hour, I take off for San Francisco. Monday is MLK Day, so I’m taking advantage of the long weekend to get away, visit some friends and play tourist. My handy-dandy Panasonic LX5 and trusty MacBook Pro are coming along for the ride, of course, just in case I want to shoot or write.

Visiting San Francisco always puts me in a good mood. It’s so different in so many ways from Los Angeles. From the chill in the air to the charm of its architecture, the city (or “the City” as its residents refer to it with love and respect) puts me at ease and on edge at the same time. It’s never failed to entertain and inspire. Honestly, I don’t think I would want to live there. Too expensive, too hard to find parking for my tastes. But I definitely wouldn’t mind spending more time there.

Time to get this friend-and-fun-filled weekend started! My flight is about to board….

It was part of my New Year’s resolutions. I realize I’m not being original here, but I like the idea of starting fresh, making goals and following through on them.

I know this isn’t much, but you have to start somewhere, right? :-)
